What it does

The skill walks the agent through a full novel-writing cycle in Chinese. It starts with a three-layer intake about genre, characters and conflict, with options to skip or roll a random answer, then builds a chapter outline, character dossiers and a machine-readable plan in JSON. After confirmation the agent writes chapters of 3000 to 5000 characters, each with a strong opening and a closing hook, and polishes the text to remove AI tells. At the end it automatically checks length and coherence and rewrites weak chapters for up to three rounds. It carries preference memory across sessions, resumes an interrupted project, and offers three writing modes: serial, parallel via sub-agents and team-based.

Who it is for. For web-novel authors and hobby fiction writers in Chinese who care about finishing a long text.

Limitations

The whole skill and its references are written in Chinese and target Chinese-language prose. In the non-stop writing phase the agent creates and overwrites chapter files in the working directory without intermediate confirmations, so run it in a dedicated project folder. The word-count check relies on the check_chapter_wordcount.py script, which needs Python. Parallel modes spawn sub-agents, which depends on what the specific agent supports.

How to disable. Remove the chinese-novelist folder from the skills directory, for example ~/.claude/skills/chinese-novelist/. Files of novels already written stay in the working directory and can be deleted separately.
