What it does
The plugin gives the Hermes agent a MAX channel with two receive modes: long polling and webhook. Voice messages are auto-downloaded and passed to Hermes's own STT core for transcription. Markdown tables are rendered to PNG with colored status icons, since MAX does not support markdown tables directly. Responses stream via message edits, there are interactive buttons including model selection and command confirmation, automatic splitting of long messages, and two-step file uploads. A separate cross-session feature shows the agent's sessions from every connected platform and lets you switch between them from MAX with the /resume command.
Who it is for. For Hermes Agent users who want to talk to it through MAX instead of, or alongside, other channels.
Good fit when
- You want to drive Hermes Agent with voice messages from MAX
- You need tables and structured output in a chat that does not support markdown tables
- You want to continue the same agent conversation while switching between MAX and other channels
Not a fit when
- You are not running Hermes Agent: the gateway is built specifically around its STT core and commands
- You need more than 32 slash commands at once: that is a MAX Bot API limit

Works only as a gateway for Hermes Agent and does not run standalone. The primary docs are in Russian, with an English version in separate files that must be kept in sync. The project is young, with 126 tests and four GitHub stars at review time.
How to disable. Disable the plugin via the hermes gateway setup command or remove it from your Hermes Agent config.

The Russian README, kept in sync with an English version, gives a features table, the full list of 20 slash commands with descriptions, and notes MAX's 32-command limit versus Telegram's 100. It separately describes a standalone sender for firing messages from cron without modifying the core, and the cross-platform session mode that is on by default.

How are voice messages handled?
The plugin downloads the voice message from MAX and passes it to Hermes's built-in STT core for transcription, with no separate external service needed.
Why do tables arrive as images?
MAX does not render markdown tables, so the plugin draws them as PNG images with colored status icons.
