What it does
The project ports the same author's tg-gateway idea to the MAX Bot API: a daemon under systemd keeps a persistent MAX connection through a resilient long-poll that does not give up on the first network error, unlike the official mcp-max-messenger. A thin bridge plugin injects incoming messages into an open Claude Code session and sends replies back to MAX. Incoming: text, downloaded photos, voice and audio transcribed via Groq Whisper, video, files and button taps. Outgoing: chunked text, photos and files, inline buttons, threaded replies, a typing indicator (MAX bots have no emoji reactions). A command panel /menu /ping /status /screen /restart /logs /model /mcp with an admin allowlist covers server tmux deployments, plus a PID lock, watchdog, heartbeat and graceful restart. If the session or bridge blips, the daemon buffers incoming messages and loses nothing.
Who it is for. For people who want to message their Claude Code from MAX the same way they already do from Telegram.

Voice transcription goes through Groq Whisper, so it depends on an external service. The daemon is built for a systemd system, and the server tmux deployment with an admin allowlist implies some setup. No license is stated in the repository.
How to disable. Stop and disable the daemon with systemctl --user disable --now max-gateway and remove the plugin with claude plugin uninstall max.
