What it does
Proficiently is a Claude Code and Claude Cowork plugin that runs a job search from setup to application. The setup skill collects your resume, preferences and work history once. The job-search skill finds openings from that data and flags companies where you know someone. The tailor-resume skill rewrites the resume for a specific posting, and cover-letter writes a cover letter. The apply skill fills out application forms on Greenhouse, Lever and Workday, and network-scan checks the companies of your LinkedIn contacts for matching openings. All work with sites goes through the Chrome browser with the Claude in Chrome extension. Personal files live in the ~/.proficiently/ folder and survive plugin updates. Each application gets its own folder with the posting text, the resume, the letter and an application record. The jobsearch-telegram skill lets you drive the search from a Telegram chat: send a job link or write search and keywords.
Who it is for. For job seekers applying to companies that use Greenhouse, Lever or Workday forms and ready to let Claude Code prepare resumes, letters and form fills.
Good fit when
- One resume has to be rewritten fast for a dozen postings, keeping each version in its own folder
- You want to find openings by your own criteria and see which companies have your contacts
- A cover letter should be written from the latest saved posting and resume, for example with `/proficiently:cover-letter last`
- Greenhouse, Lever or Workday forms repeat the same fields, and you want them filled from saved answers
- You want to run the search from a phone: send a bot job links and queries
Not a fit when
- You need applications on Russian job boards: the apply skill is built for Greenhouse, Lever and Workday
- The machine has no Chrome with the Claude in Chrome extension: the browser skills do not work without it
- The resume and contact list must not go to an AI agent: the plugin keeps them in your folder and reads them on every run
- You are not ready to review filled forms before sending
Example request
Run /proficiently:setup, then find product manager openings and tailor my resume to the best-matching postingLimitations
- Claude Code CLI or the Claude Cowork desktop app, the Chrome browser and the Claude in Chrome extension are required: all browser automation goes through it.
- Application forms are supported only on Greenhouse, Lever and Workday.
- The contact list is imported from LinkedIn, which is blocked in Russia. The import is optional.
- A Telegram bot is created through BotFather, and its token is written in plain text to telegram-config.md in the data folder. Bot polling starts with `/loop 1m /proficiently:jobsearch-telegram`.
- The plugin is free and open source. Its authors also sell a separate done-for-you job search service at proficiently.com.
How to disable. Remove the plugin with `claude plugin uninstall proficiently`. Personal data stays in the ~/.proficiently/ folder: resume, profile, contacts, bot token and application folders. Delete it by hand if you no longer need them.
