What it does
Trade It is a service that links brokerage accounts and crypto exchanges to an AI assistant. The vendor's plugin bundles a remote MCP server with a skill that sets the workflow. The agent reads accounts, balances, positions and order history, and looks up stocks and crypto assets with prices. An order goes through two steps. The create_trade and create_options_trade tools prepare a draft, execute_trade submits a reviewed draft once that exact order is approved, and cancel_trade cancels a draft or requests cancellation of a submitted order. The create_trade_link tool builds a link to an order: a person opens it on the Trade It site, and nothing is placed in the meantime. Supported brokerages and exchanges: Charles Schwab, Coinbase, ETrade, Kraken, Moomoo, Public, Robinhood, Tastytrade, TradeStation and Webull. The TradeStation Paper account takes simulated trades. The tool set depends on the client and permissions: some clients get account data and Trade Links without trading tools.
Who it is for. Private investors with US brokerage or crypto accounts who review a portfolio and prepare orders in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or VS Code.
Good fit when

- A multi-leg options order should go in as a draft and be checked before sending
- Checking recent order status by asking is easier than opening each broker app
- A trade needs a link that can be sent to a friend and opened on the Trade It site
Not a fit when
- You want advice on what to buy: the service gives no investment advice
- Your broker is not on the supported list
- You want trades without human confirmation: an account auto-execution setting can submit an order at creation, so such accounts are better left unconnected
- Your account is held with a Russian broker

The brokerages are US or international, and access from Russia was not checked. The broker list, order types and plan terms change, and the current data is in the Trade It documentation.
The agent works with real money. An auto-execution setting on the account can submit an order as soon as the draft is created, and the skill does not change those settings.
An accepted order is not necessarily filled, and a cancellation request is not necessarily a completed cancellation. Read the status from the server response.
Installing the plugin and authorizing an account are separate steps. An API key from account settings works instead of OAuth; keep it in the client's credential settings.
How to disable. Remove the plugin through the client's plugin manager. Access is revoked on the Trade It side, and linked brokerage accounts can be disconnected in the service account.
FAQ
How do I connect Trade It to Claude Code?
Run two commands in Claude Code: /plugin marketplace add trade-it-inc/skills and /plugin install trade-it@trade-it. In a new session open /mcp and sign in through the browser. Then call /trade-it:trade-it-mcp or ask about your accounts.
Can the agent buy stocks by itself?
Only when you approve a specific order: execute_trade submits just a reviewed draft. The exception is an account with auto-execution enabled, where an order goes out at creation. Check that setting before the first session.
How do I connect Trade It without the plugin?
Add the remote server https://mcp.tradeit.app/mcp with the Streamable HTTP transport. The old HTTP+SSE transport is gone. The skill installs separately with `npx skills add trade-it-inc/trade-it-mcp --skill trade-it-mcp`.
Which brokerages are supported?
Charles Schwab, Coinbase, ETrade, Kraken, Moomoo, Public, Robinhood, Tastytrade, TradeStation, TradeStation Paper and Webull. The current list with order types is kept at docs.tradeit.app/brokerages.
Can I try it without real money?
Yes, the list includes the TradeStation Paper account, which takes simulated trades. The other connections use real accounts.
