FINAM Trade API MCP server
FINAM Trade API MCP Server
An MCP server for FINAM brokerage trading: quotes, order book, placing and cancelling orders, accounts and trade history
High risk
We rate an entry high when the tool writes to external systems, handles money, production databases or secrets, or runs arbitrary commands. The CLI installs it only with your consent.
Why this level
- Can place and cancel real exchange orders immediately on a tool call
- The API token grants access to the user's account, trades and transactions
Install
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add mcp/finam-trade-api-mcp-serverDetects the agents on your machine, checks the risk and pins the version.
Other ways to install
This entry is high risk, so there is no one-click install. Review the code and add the config by hand.

Generate API_SECRET_TOKEN at tradeapi.finam.ru/docs/tokens/, get ACCOUNT_ID from your personal account (digits only, no КЛФ- prefix), then add the finam server to your Claude Desktop config using npx -y mcp-finam-trade-api with these environment variables.

What it does
The server wraps the FINAM Trade API with 19 tools across five areas: authentication and token permissions, account info with trades and transactions, an instrument list, server time, trading parameters and schedule, options chains, historical candles, current quotes, recent trades and the order book, plus placing, viewing, listing and cancelling orders. Exact instrument lookup by ticker, ISIN or symbol is a separate tool. Besides tools, the server exposes MCP resources with enum reference data like order types and account statuses, and a ready trading-agent prompt that sets the context for a trading assistant.
Who it is for. For traders with a FINAM brokerage account who want to check quotes and manage orders through an agent.
Good fit when
- You want to quickly check a quote, order book or historical candles for an instrument
- You want to place, view or cancel an order through an agent
- You want a summary of the account's trades and transactions for a period
Not a fit when
- You do not have a FINAM brokerage account and a trading API token
- You do not want to grant an agent the ability to place orders on its own: PlaceOrder has no separate confirmation or preview mode
- You need a finished production service rather than a hackathon project: the README explicitly warns this is educational material
Example request
Show the current quote and order book for SBER and place a limit buy orderLimitations
The project was built at the Finam AI Trade Hack, and the author states plainly that the software is provided as is for educational purposes and trading involves risk. PlaceOrder places a real order immediately on the call, with no separate confirmation or dry-run mode among the tools. For remote HTTP connections via mcp-remote, the README notes a Windows Claude Desktop quirk with spaces in headers.
How to disable. Remove the finam entry from your Claude Desktop config.

README in short
The English README explains the project's origin at the Finam AI Trade Hack, gives a quick start for users via npx and for developers building from source, three connection methods: local stdio, remote via mcp-remote and local Node, tables of 19 tools, 13 enums, two schemas and the trading-agent prompt. It ends with an explicit warning about trading risk and educational purpose.
FAQ
Can the agent place an order without confirmation?
Yes, the PlaceOrder tool immediately creates a real order on the call, with no separate confirmation step built into the server itself.
Can I connect to the server remotely instead of locally?
Yes, the README describes connecting via mcp-remote to a remote HTTP or SSE address with authorization headers.
