Travel Hacking Toolkit plugin
A plugin for Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode with 42 skills and 6 MCP servers that search flights and hotels for cash or miles

Broad access
Why this level
- The Southwest, American Airlines, Chase, Amex and TicketsAtWork skills sign in to accounts through a browser in Docker with a login and password from environment variables: automated sign-in may break the rules of airlines and banks and get the account blocked
- Seats.aero, Duffel, AwardWallet and other API keys live in shell variables, and AwardWallet reads balances and statuses for your loyalty programs
- The LiteAPI MCP server can book hotels, and the Docker images are pulled from the public ghcr.io registry
Install
- Works in
In your terminal, with SkillFoxx CLI
npx skillfoxx add plugins/travel-hacking-toolkitDetects the agents on your machine, shows the access level and pins the version.

What it does
Travel Hacking Toolkit turns an agent into a trip planner that can count miles and points. You ask for a 60,000-mile business class flight to Tokyo, and the agent checks award availability across 27 loyalty programs, compares it with the cash price, looks at your balances and names the best play. The plugin bundles skills per source for that: Seats.aero for award space, Duffel and Ignav for cash prices, Google Flights, Southwest, the Chase and Amex portals, and for hotels Trivago, Airbnb, VRBO and Booking.com through RapidAPI. Orchestration skills sit above the sources. plan-trip guides a trip, compare-flights queries every source in parallel, compare-hotels compares portals, metasearch and Airbnb, and trip-calculator decides between cash and points, counting taxes and opportunity cost. Separate reference skills load on demand: alliances, stopover rules, award hold windows, active transfer bonuses and mile-valuation formulas. Six MCP servers give live search: Skiplagged, Kiwi.com, Trivago, Ferryhopper for ferries and Airbnb work without keys, while LiteAPI for hotels with booking needs one.
Who it is for. For travelers who collect miles and credit card points and want an agent to compare award tickets, cash prices and transfer bonuses on its own.
Good fit when
- You want the cheapest dates for an award flight on a route, and the award-calendar skill prints a price grid over a date range
- You must decide whether to spend Chase or Amex points or pay cash, and trip-calculator computes cents per mile with taxes
- You need to compare hotels in the Amex FHR, THC and Chase Edit programs and spot ways to stack their benefits
- You want to check whether an already booked Southwest fare dropped, and the skill monitors the change-flight price
- A trip across Scandinavia or Germany: scandinavia-transit and deutsche-bahn search trains, buses and ferries
Not a fit when
- You will not give an agent logins and passwords for airline and bank accounts
- You only need a simple cash fare search on Russian services: the catalog has separate skills for that, while this toolkit targets miles and international loyalty programs
- Docker cannot be installed on the machine: five browser-driven skills need it
- You want to book flights straight from the chat: the toolkit searches and calculates, and booking happens on the program's own site
Example request
Find business class from San Francisco to Tokyo in August on miles, compare it with the cash price and tell me which Chase points are better to transferLimitations
- Award search opens only with keys: Seats.aero (paid Pro), Duffel, Ignav and AwardWallet (a business account is required). Other keys extend individual skills.
- Keys are read from shell environment variables: plugin settings do not reach skills that call scripts.
- OpenCode has no ready plugin: clone the repository and run scripts/setup.sh. Codex picks up the plugin catalog from the repository with one command.
- The Amex skill requires a Platinum card and the Chase skill requires Sapphire.
- Claude Desktop's chat UI does not support the plugin format yet; the plugin works in Cowork after installing through Claude Code.
- Hidden-city tickets from Skiplagged may break an airline's conditions of carriage.
How to disable. In Claude Code disable the plugin through /plugin, and `claude plugin list` shows the install state. For Codex remove the plugin in /plugins, and for OpenCode delete the copied skills from `~/.config/opencode/skills/` and the repository clone. Delete keys added to `~/.zshrc` or `~/.bashrc` by hand and remove containers and images with docker rm and docker rmi.
FAQ
How do I install Travel Hacking Toolkit in Claude Code?
Run /plugin marketplace add borski/travel-hacking-toolkit, then /plugin install travel-hacker@borski. The plugin also installs the travel-hacker subagent. /travel-hacker:getting-started checks the install and shows which API keys are missing.
Which keys do I need to search award flights?
The main key is SEATS_AERO_API_KEY: it opens search across 27 loyalty programs and needs a paid Pro plan. For cash prices, DUFFEL_API_KEY_LIVE and IGNAV_API_KEY help, and Ignav has a free limit of 1,000 requests a month. AWARDWALLET_API_KEY with AWARDWALLET_USER_ID pull balances and statuses.
Does the toolkit work without any keys?
Partly. Five MCP servers, Skiplagged, Kiwi.com, Trivago, Ferryhopper and Airbnb, work right away, so cash flight and hotel search is available without keys. Award flights, program balances and some portals need keys or account credentials.
What do the Docker skills do and why do they need passwords?
Southwest, American Airlines, Chase, Amex and TicketsAtWork have no public API, so the skills open their sites with a Patchright browser in Docker. The login and password go to the container through environment variables such as AA_USERNAME and AA_PASSWORD. The images are public and their Dockerfiles live in the skill folders.
Can I use the toolkit in Codex or OpenCode?
In Codex the command codex plugin marketplace add borski/travel-hacking-toolkit is enough, and the plugin then appears in /plugins. OpenCode has no ready plugin: clone the repository and run ./scripts/setup.sh, which asks which host you use and installs the skills.

README in short
The repository page opens with a quick start: plugin install in Claude Code, Codex and Cowork, key setup by script and a clone-based path for OpenCode. Tables of the six MCP servers and the skills follow, grouped as orchestration, flights, credit card portals, hotels, loyalty programs, destinations and reference. Separate sections explain the Docker images, how to pick a skill for a task and the overall workflow: gather prices, optimize point transfers, compare mile value and book on the program's own site. The end has example prompts and the project structure.
