What it does
FlyAI teaches an agent to search trips on Fliggy, the travel platform of Alibaba Group. The skill calls the flyai CLI, which talks to Fliggy's MCP services and prints the result as a single line of JSON, easy to parse with jq or Python. There are eight commands. keyword-search covers every category at once: hotels, tickets, tours, cruises, visas, SIM cards. ai-search understands a complex request such as three days in Hangzhou on a budget with a stay near the lake. The rest return structured results for comparison: search-flight, search-train, search-hotel, search-poi, plus search-marriott-hotel and search-marriott-package for the Marriott chain. Flights and trains take filters for dates, departure hours, duration, transfers, class and a price cap. Hotels take stars, accommodation type, a nearby attraction and a sort order. Every result carries a booking link.
Who it is for. For people who plan trips around China and Asia with an agent and want to compare tickets and hotels without switching between sites.
Good fit when
- You want to compare direct Shanghai to Tokyo flights on given dates and sort them by price or duration
- A multi-day trip is on the table and the agent picks hotels near a chosen attraction, filtered by stars and price
- You need train tickets between Chinese cities with a choice of seat class
- One query should show what exists on a topic: visas, cruises, concert tickets or SIM cards
- You need a Marriott hotel or a package deal with accommodation
Not a fit when
- You need Russian booking services: FlyAI works with the Fliggy catalog, other entries cover Aviasales and Travelata
- You want to pay and finalize a booking in the chat: the skill returns booking links and does not process payments
- You cannot install Node: the CLI needs Node and a global npm package
- You need data offline: every command calls Fliggy services

Node and the global @fly-ai/flyai-cli package are required. An API key is optional: the skill runs without one, and FLYAI_API_KEY gives richer results. The catalog belongs to Fliggy, so the examples use Chinese-market cities, prices in yuan and hotels. Availability of the service from Russia is not described in the repository, so check it yourself.
The skill only searches: payment and booking happen on the Fliggy side through the link it returns. The agent should read each command's description in the references folder before calling it, otherwise parameters are easy to mix up between commands.
How to disable. Delete ~/.claude/skills/flyai and run npm uninstall -g @fly-ai/flyai-cli. If you installed through clawhub or npx skills, remove the skill with the same manager.

How do I install FlyAI in Claude Code?
Install the CLI with npm i -g @fly-ai/flyai-cli, then copy the skills/flyai folder from the repository into ~/.claude/skills/flyai. To check, run flyai keyword-search with any query: the CLI returns JSON.
Does FlyAI need an API key?
No, trial mode works without keys. For richer results set a key with flyai config set FLYAI_API_KEY and your value.
How is keyword-search different from ai-search?
keyword-search runs a broad search across all categories from a short query. ai-search parses a longer request with budget, dates and preferences and covers hotels, attractions, flights, trains and mixed queries.
Which filters does flight search have?
Dates and date ranges, return date, direct or connecting, cabin class, flight number, layover city, departure and arrival hours, maximum duration and price, and eight sort options.
How is FlyAI different from searching tickets in a browser?
The request reaches the agent in natural language and the answer comes back as structured JSON that the agent can compare, filter and retell. Search runs over the Fliggy catalog, with a booking link in every record.
