What it does

The set gives the agent three complementary research skills. research-writing-skill helps draft and revise paper sections: abstract, introduction, methods, experiments, discussion, reviewer responses, and it builds an argument outline before full prose. office-academic-skill produces editable docx and pptx files: paper reading reports, seminar and defense slides, and inspection or repair of existing documents at the OOXML level. scientific-toolkit-skill covers MATLAB and Python computing: signal and image processing, statistics, optimization, literature lookup and journal-grade figures. The skills target a Chinese research audience: explanations and prose default to Chinese, while formulas, method names and references stay in the original language. Inventing DOIs, data, parameters and conclusions is explicitly forbidden.

Who it is for. For researchers, graduate students and students who need help with paper text, academic documents and computations.

Good fit when

  • You need to write or edit a paper section and a reviewer response
  • You need a Word paper report or slides for a seminar or defense
  • You need MATLAB or Python computations and figures for research

Not a fit when

  • The work is not academic and the scholarly document format does not fit
  • You need the interface and explanations strictly in another language rather than Chinese

Limitations

The skills are oriented to Chinese output; English is used in frontmatter and terms. scientific-toolkit-skill is tuned for optics and photonics, so examples need adaptation for other fields. The docx, pptx and computing scripts require Python and MATLAB or Octave; without them those steps are skipped. The skills check the form of the work but do not replace fact-checking and do not guarantee correct computations.

How to disable. Remove the research-writing-skill, office-academic-skill and scientific-toolkit-skill folders from ~/.claude/skills/ or ~/.codex/skills/, or from the project's .claude/skills/ directory.

Use this skill for:

- Chinese-first academic PPTs for literature reports, group meetings, courses, opening/midterm/defense presentations, and project presentations.
- Editable `.docx` and `.pptx` generation, inspection, repair, and style preservation.
- PPT template matching, native slide editing, speaker notes, and visual quality checks.

## Language And Evidence

- Default to Chinese for explanations, Word report prose, slide text, outlines, and speaker notes.
- Preserve English titles, formulas, variables, model names, software commands, reference entries, and direct source labels.
- Do not invent DOI, authors, journal details, experiment values, figure numbers, section names, page numbers, or conclusions.

FAQ

In which language are the outputs?

Chinese by default. The skills keep formulas, method names, commands and references in the original language.

Do I have to install all three skills?

No. You can copy only the folder you need, for example research-writing-skill for writing or scientific-toolkit-skill for computing.
