What it does
anti-vibe-writing is a skill for the last pass over text an AI already drafted. It removes templated phrasing, vague abstraction, extra headings and lists, and typographic tells such as long dashes, smart quotes and the ellipsis character. The meaning stays intact. There are three modes: plain cleanup, human texture for personal blogs and founder notes, and learning mode. Learning mode builds a voice profile from your samples so later drafts sound like you. Tweets, Weibo, blogs, podcasts and reports have separate presets. English and Chinese tells are covered by separate reference files.
Who it is for. Authors and editors whose AI draft is accurate but sounds templated: posts, blogs, READMEs and product copy.
Good fit when
- A draft post for X or Weibo reads as machine-written.
- A README or docs page is crowded with headings, emoji and bullet lists.
- A series of emails or articles should keep one voice, and learning mode takes the author's samples.
- A landing page or founder note is written in a stiff consultant tone.
Not a fit when
- There is no text yet: the skill edits a finished draft and does not write from scratch.
- You need to edit Russian text: the references cover English and Chinese.
- The text must pass an AI detector: the authors explicitly rule out that goal.
Example request
Run this draft through anti-vibe-writing: it is a tweet for X, so remove templated phrasing and keep the meaning.Limitations
The references cover English and Chinese, and Russian text is not handled. The rules are Markdown files with no scripts, so the result depends on the agent's model and on how precisely you describe the scenario. Human-texture mode adds small irregularities on purpose, so reread the output before publishing. Learning mode reads samples of your writing, so pass only texts you are willing to show the agent's model. The skill edits style and does not check facts, so compare numbers and names with the source after an edit.
How to disable. Delete the `~/.claude/skills/anti-vibe-writing/` folder or remove the pasted rules from the agent's instruction file, such as `AGENTS.md`.
FAQ
How do I install anti-vibe-writing in Claude Code?
Copy the `skills/anti-vibe-writing/` folder to `~/.claude/skills/anti-vibe-writing/` and call `/anti-vibe-writing`. For agents with an instruction file, such as Codex, paste the rules into `AGENTS.md`.
Which modes are available?
Three: plain cleanup, human texture and learning mode built from your samples. Modes combine with presets for tweets, Weibo, blogs, podcasts and reports.
Do I have to name the scenario?
No, plain mode suits most drafts. One line of context such as "this is a tweet" or "blog voice" changes the result noticeably.
How is it different from Humanizer and Stop Slop?
The author studied both projects. anti-vibe-writing adds a Chinese rule track, voice learning and scenario presets.
Can the skill be used to beat AI detectors?
No, the authors do not target that. The casual-typing layer mimics phone typing and never touches numbers, names or links. The skill edits style and does not disguise where a text came from.

Use this after the substance is already there. The point is not to make the prose prettier. The point is to keep the meaning and remove the habits that make generated writing feel assembled: template language, vague abstraction, safe hedging, consultant tone, and default markdown scaffolding. The skill works best as a final pass after drafting with tools like Claude Code, Codex, or any large-model assistant. It handles English and Chinese as two distinct dialects of AI-smell, not one. ## Core Philosophy - Preserve the writer's meaning. Improve delivery, not substance. - Human writing chooses what matters. AI writing often hedges, formats, and explains by habit. - Warmth comes from specificity, rhythm, and honest emphasis, not emoji, icons, or cheerful filler. - Chinese AI-smell and English AI-smell are different problems. Apply the matching reference. - Several narrow editing passes work better than one vague rewrite. - Clean is not the goal. Sounding like the person who meant it is the goal. ## Best Uses - The draft is correct but flat, generic, or obviously AI-written. - The document has too many headings, bullets, or numbered lists. - The copy sounds cautious, polished, and empty at the same time. - The writing leans on business-speak instead of saying what is true. - The reader needs prose that sounds deliberate rather than generated. - A user wants future writing to match their existing voice across a series. ## Typical Fits - Social posts: X / Twitter, Weibo, Jike, RedNote (XHS) - Reddit and English forum comments - Blog posts, newsletters, public WeChat articles - Podcast show notes and video scripts - README cleanup - Product docs and landing page copy - Proposals, founder notes, technical memos, internal reports
