How we reviewExtended accessThe tool runs code or makes network calls and only reads external data.

What it does
x-reader reads sources for an agent: X (Twitter), articles, video, podcasts, WeChat, Xiaohongshu, Telegram and RSS. A partially read source is marked as partial and not passed off as whole. Skill installation: `npx skills add runesleo/x-reader --skill x-reader`, the package: `pip install "x-reader @ git+https://github.com/runesleo/x-reader.git"`, for MCP mode from a clone: `pip install -e ".[mcp]"`. Cookies stay local and are sent only with explicit consent. Telegram needs credentials and video transcription needs a Groq API key. Version 0.3.1 from 29.09.2026, MIT license.
Who it is for. For researchers and authors who need to gather materials from social networks, articles and video in one place with a clear completeness mark.
Good fit when
- You need to read a post, article or video by link from an agent
- You need a single collection of materials from different sources
- You need a mark that a source was not read in full
Not a fit when
- The platform terms forbid automatic reading
- You cannot pass cookies and credentials to an agent
Example request
Read a long thread and an article by link and make a short summary marking which parts were not read in fullLimitations
Platform terms are on the user: automatic reading may violate the service terms. Cookies stay local and are sent only with your explicit consent. Telegram needs credentials and video transcription needs a Groq API key, so an external service will receive audio. Access is extended.
How to disable. Remove the skill from the agent's folder, the package with pip uninstall x-reader and the saved cookies and keys.
