What it does

The skill wraps the X API into a Bun command line tool so the agent can search posts by query, pull full threads by id, read a user's recent posts, and keep a watchlist. Search sorts by likes, impressions, retweets or recency, filters by time and minimum likes, and strips retweets and replies. A quick mode handles cheap targeted checks, and a cache avoids paying for repeat queries. During research the agent breaks a question into several queries, follows threads, opens linked content, and synthesizes findings by theme with quotes and links. Every search prints an estimated API cost.

Who it is for. For marketers, SMM specialists, product managers and developers who need a quick read on what X is saying about a topic.

Limitations

You need an X API bearer token and prepaid credits: the X API is pay per request, one search page costs roughly half a dollar, and exact prices are in the X console. Running the command requires Bun installed. The skill uses recent search over the last 7 days; full archive on the same plan is not yet implemented. Access to X from Russia is unstable and reaching the API may require a VPN.

How to disable. Remove the x-research folder from the agent's skills directory (.claude/skills/ or skills/) and unset the X_BEARER_TOKEN environment variable.

# X Research
