What it does
goofish-cli turns seller operations on Xianyu (Goofish) into console commands. One command registry serves a person in the terminal, an agent as a set of MCP tools, and Claude Code skills. The 17 commands cover sign-in by cookies or QR code, item work, buyer chats and search. Item work includes publishing and taking items down, uploading images and suggesting a category. The goofish message watch command keeps a persistent connection and streams events as JSONL: a message, a read receipt and a new-message notice. After a drop the connection recovers by itself. Command output comes in json, yaml, table, md and csv. Built-in rate limiters lower the chance of a block: publishing and taking down default to one action a minute and image upload to nine. On a control error an automatic cutoff trips. The five skills installed with goofish skills install guide the agent through publishing, replying to buyers, checking forbidden words and diagnosing a shop.
Who it is for. For sellers and developers who run their own listings on Xianyu and want Claude Code, Cursor or Codex to handle publishing, replies and search.
Good fit when
- You need to list an item with photos on Xianyu with the category and address picked automatically
- You want incoming buyer messages as a stream and replies prepared for confirmation before sending
- You need to check a title and description for forbidden words before publishing
- You want to find out why a shop's visibility fell: the diagnosis skill compares buyer-side search with history
- Automation runs in an isolated environment: sandbox mode starts the browser in a Docker container
Not a fit when
- The account belongs to someone else: the author allows work with your own accounts only
- You plan to resell the service or run mass operations such as fake orders: this is explicitly forbidden
- You need to get around the slider check and spoof device identifiers: the project has no such features
- You need orders and shipping: order commands are still on the roadmap and not in the release
Example request
Show unread buyer messages on Xianyu and draft replies, but do not send until I confirm.Limitations
Sign-in needs cookies from the browser or a QR code. Search and the extended item view launch Playwright with the system Chrome.
The tool is meant for your own accounts only. The author forbids fraud, fake orders, reselling the service and acting against Xianyu, Taobao and Alibaba rules, and asks that the slider check and any block be handled by hand. The publish response only confirms receipt, so verify the result by reading the item back, and when the outcome is unknown do not publish again.
The interface and documentation are in Chinese with English notes. Using Xianyu or paying on it from Russia has not been checked.
How to disable. Delete the goofish block from the MCP configuration, run pip uninstall goofish-cli and remove the skills from ~/.claude/skills. Then sign out of the Xianyu session in the browser so the saved cookies stop working.
FAQ
How do I connect goofish-cli to Claude Code?
In the project's .mcp.json add a goofish server with the command uvx and the argument goofish-cli. All commands appear as tools such as mcp__goofish__item_get and message_watch.
How do I sign in to a Xianyu account?
Export cookies from the browser to a JSON file and run goofish auth login with the file path, or sign in by QR code with goofish auth login --qr. goofish auth status checks the state.
Which skills are included?
Five. goofish-overview is the entry point, goofish-publish-item handles publishing and goofish-reply-buyer drafts buyer replies. goofish-risk-guard checks forbidden words, and goofish-shop-diagnosis diagnoses a shop. The goofish skills install command puts them in ~/.claude/skills.
Is there protection against account blocks?
Partly: rate limiters and the automatic cutoff lower the chance of a block, but there is no full protection.
Can it run without a desktop?
Yes. The goofish sandbox start command launches Chromium in a Docker container with a virtual desktop, and goofish sandbox mcp connects it as an MCP server. A running Docker is required.
