What it does
The server gives an agent 44 tools for Brazilian tax data. They validate CNPJ and CPF, determine the Simples Nacional or MEI regime and work with the CNAE, NCM and CFOP reference tables. A separate group parses electronic documents: NF-e, NFS-e, CT-e, SPED and eSocial files. Reference tables ship inside the package and work offline, and XML is parsed locally with XSD validation. On top of the basic calls there are six agentic tools that build a finished report in one call. risk_score_supplier rates a counterparty from 0 to 100, and consultar_empresas_lote checks several CNPJs at once. analyze_cnpj_compliance merges CNPJ, tax regime and CNAE into one report. validate_nfe_full checks the invoice XML, its key and the issuer. summarize_sped gives a short summary of the period and inconsistencies found. compare_tax_regimes compares four tax regimes. The server accounts for the 2026 tax reform (IBS and CBS). The same code is available as the mcp-fiscal command-line tool, as the mcp-fiscal-api REST API with a demo interface and as a Node.js wrapper in preview.

Environment variables
FASTMCP_TRANSPORT- Server transport: stdio (default), sse, http or streamable-http.
NFE_CERTIFICADO_SENHAsecret- Password of the A1 digital certificate, needed only for SEFAZ checks through the REST API.
Limitations
Python 3.10 or newer and uv are required. Some requests go to public Brazilian sources, and we have not checked their availability from Russia. The SEFAZ status check, plus distribution and manifestation of NF-e through the REST API, requires an A1 digital certificate, and without one the server returns error 503. The certificate password must not live in a plain .env. Data from public sources may lag, so verify important decisions against the original source. In HTTP or SSE mode the port comes from the PORT variable.
How to disable. Remove the fiscal-brasil entry from the client config, for example claude_desktop_config.json, and restart the client. The server creates no keys or background processes.
FAQ
Do I need keys or signup for MCP Fiscal Brasil?
No. In the default stdio mode the server works with no environment variables, keys or accounts. Variables are needed only when running over HTTP or SSE and when working with an A1 certificate.
How do I install the server in Claude Desktop?
Add an mcpServers block to claude_desktop_config.json with a fiscal-brasil entry where command is uvx and args contains mcp-fiscal-brasil, then restart Claude Desktop. To force an update use mcp-fiscal-brasil@latest or the --refresh flag.
What does risk_score_supplier do?
The tool rates a supplier by CNPJ and returns a score from 0 to 100, a list of factors and a contract recommendation.
How does MCP Fiscal Brasil differ from mcp-brasil?
mcp-brasil serves general Brazilian open data. MCP Fiscal Brasil focuses on the tax vertical: NF-e XML parsing, SPED and eSocial analysis, offline NCM, CFOP and CNAE tables and the 2026 reform.
How do I compare tax regimes for my company?
Call compare_tax_regimes: the tool weighs MEI, Simples, Lucro Presumido and Lucro Real by turnover, sector and payroll. In the terminal the same job runs with `mcp-fiscal regimes --faturamento 500000 --setor serviços --folha 180000`.
