What it does
Finance Toolkit is an open-source financial analysis package available to the agent as an MCP server. It offers 500+ methods computed transparently from raw financial statements rather than pulled ready-made from third-party endpoints: the statements themselves, historical prices, analyst estimates, 100+ fundamental ratios, 55+ technical indicators, 85+ risk and performance metrics, econometric tests and macro indicators. You can connect to the hosted server with OAuth or run a local server that sets up the client config and key itself. Data access needs a Financial Modeling Prep key, with a Yahoo Finance fallback when the limit is reached.
Who it is for. For financial and investment analysts, market researchers and developers who need company metrics computed through an agent.

Full access needs a Financial Modeling Prep key: the free plan is limited in daily requests, history depth and mostly US-listed companies. The hosted server works over OAuth and does not store the key, while the local server is set up via uvx. Some data, such as macro databases, comes from separate sources.
How to disable. Remove the finance-toolkit entry from the MCP client config; for the local variant remove the financetoolkit package.

Over MCP you can query 500+ methods from Claude, Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf and other clients without code. Two paths exist: a hosted server with OAuth and a local run via uvx with automatic setup. Data needs a Financial Modeling Prep key, with a Yahoo Finance fallback on limits, and macro data from OECD and other sources. The server is also on Smithery and Glama, MIT licensed.

Where do the values come from?
Methods are computed from raw financial statements rather than pulled ready-made from third-party endpoints, so the calculation is transparent.
Is a key required?
Full data access needs a Financial Modeling Prep key. When the limit is reached, some requests fall back to Yahoo Finance.
