Broad access
Why this level
- The autonomous pipeline changes code through subagents with no confirmation between steps and publishes the game to external hosting.
- Play.fun integration needs an account sign-in, and the `retrodiffusion` command spends money on a paid API.

What it does
game-creator is a plugin for Claude Code and other agents that builds browser games on Phaser (2D) and Three.js (3D) from a short prompt such as "make a space invaders game". The `/game-creator:viral-game 2d my-game` command covers the whole path: a project scaffold from a template, pixel art sprites, visual polish, procedural audio on Strudel.cc, publishing to here.now and Play.fun integration. The other commands do a single step: `add-assets`, `design-game`, `add-audio`, `add-feature`, `review-game`, `qa-game`. After every step that changes code, a QA subagent runs: a build, a headless Chromium run, a gameplay scenario, architecture rules and Playwright MCP screenshots. On failure an autofix subagent gets up to three attempts. Every game is built on an event bus, shared state and a constants file, and the `render_game_to_text()` function gives the agent the game state as JSON.
Who it is for. Developers and vibe coders who want a playable browser game and a shareable link in one session.
Good fit when
- You have an arcade idea or a tweet describing a game and want a playable browser prototype within ten minutes.
- A finished Phaser game looks like a set of geometric shapes, and the shapes should become pixel art sprites.
- Background music and sound effects are being added with no ready audio files.
- Before publishing, the codebase is reviewed for architecture and covered with Playwright tests.
- The game goes live on here.now, GitHub Pages, Vercel, Netlify or itch.io.
Not a fit when
- You need a Godot or Unreal project: ready templates exist only for Phaser and Three.js.
- The game must not go online without your decision: the autonomous pipeline publishes it and adds monetization itself.
- Your game's license is incompatible with AGPL-3.0, which covers the Strudel audio library.
- You want pixel art with no paid services: the `retrodiffusion` command calls the paid Retro Diffusion API.
Example request
Make a space invaders game on Phaser and take it to publishing: `/game-creator:viral-game 2d space-invaders`.Limitations
The plugin targets Phaser 3 and Three.js, and code is written as JavaScript ES modules. Audio relies on `@strudel/web` under AGPL-3.0, so your game's license must be compatible with it. Publishing defaults to here.now, Play.fun integration needs interactive authorization, and `retrodiffusion` spends money on a paid API. The pipeline runs steps back to back without pausing for confirmation. No license is set in the GitHub metadata.
How to disable. Delete the game-creator skills from the agent's skills directory or disable the plugin with `/plugin`. Generated games live in your projects and stay put, and published copies are removed in the here.now and Play.fun dashboards.
FAQ
How do I install the plugin for a specific agent?
Add the `-a` flag: `npx skills add playableintelligence/game-creator -a claude-code`. For Codex and Cursor use `codex` or `cursor`.
How does `/viral-game` differ from `/make-game`?
`/viral-game` builds, scores and publishes a game in one pass. `/make-game` runs a project across several sessions with phases, architecture decision records and a `docs/STATE.md` file.
What does the QA subagent check?
Five phases: build, a headless Chromium run, gameplay actions, architecture on the event bus and state, and a visual check with Playwright MCP screenshots. After a failure an autofix subagent gets up to three attempts.
Which example games are included?
Eight: `flappy-bird`, `barn-defense`, `vampire-survivors` and `example-game` on Phaser, plus `flappy-bird-3d`, `flight-simulator`, `labyrinth` and `singularity-run` on Three.js.
What does `render_game_to_text()` do?
Every game exports this function. It returns JSON with the current state, so an agent reads the game without interpreting pixels.

README in short
The document shows the six-step pipeline, the `src/` directory architecture, tables of skills, commands and agents, example games and the tech stack. Separate sections cover quality checks and Play.fun SDK integration, which does not block the game when the script fails to load.
