What it does
AkTools is an MCP server built on the akshare library. It gives an agent stock-market and cryptocurrency data: ticker lookup by company name, a stock card with price and market cap, price history with technical indicators and key financial indicators for A-shares, Hong Kong and US stocks. A separate group covers mainland China: the limit-up pool, the strong-stock pool, the Dragon and Tiger list statistics and capital flows by concept. News is available per stock, per cryptocurrency and as a global feed. For crypto the server returns OKX data and a Binance AI report. The trading_suggest tool produces a suggestion for a security. The server places no trades: none of its tools submits orders.
Who it is for. For analysts and private investors who want Chinese stock and crypto-market data inside a chat with Claude Code, Cursor or Codex.

Limitations
The description and tool names are in Chinese, and answers depend on akshare and external sites that may change format. Python 3.10 or newer and uv are required. OKX, Binance and news-feed addresses are set through optional environment variables. The trading_suggest hint does not replace an investor's own decision. Reachability of the data sources from Russia is unverified. After source updates some tools may return errors or empty fields. The get_current_time tool lets the agent account for A-share trading days when requesting a period.
How to disable. Remove the server from the client configuration, in Claude Code with claude mcp remove aktools. If you ran the Docker container, stop it with docker-compose down in /opt/mcp-aktools.
FAQ
How do I connect AkTools to Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add aktools -- uvx mcp-aktools. For Codex: codex mcp add aktools -- uvx mcp-aktools. You need uv and Python 3.10 or newer.
Which markets does the server cover?
Mainland China, Hong Kong and US stocks, plus cryptocurrencies through OKX and Binance.
Are API keys required?
Not for uvx or Docker runs. All environment variables are optional: OKX_BASE_URL, BINANCE_BASE_URL, NEWSNOW_BASE_URL and NEWSNOW_CHANNELS change source addresses and news channels.
Can I run the server in Docker?
Yes. Download docker-compose.yml from the repository into a separate directory and run docker-compose up -d. The server speaks Streamable HTTP on port 8808 at the /mcp path.
Which tools exist for cryptocurrencies?
okx_prices returns price history, okx_loan_ratios shows the leveraged long-short ratio, okx_taker_volume gives the buy-sell balance and binance_ai_report returns a Binance AI report. News for a coin comes from stock_news.
