What it does
The server wraps the Finam TradeAPI in MCP tools organized by clean-architecture layers: account info, trade and transaction history, instrument/exchange/schedule reference data, placing and cancelling orders, historical bars, quotes, the order book and recent trades. Authorization uses a Finam API token, which the server exchanges for a short-lived JWT and refreshes automatically. It runs as a regular stdio MCP server via uv or as a plain package.
Who it is for. For traders with a Finam brokerage account who want to fetch market data and manage orders through an agent.
Good fit when
- You want to check your Finam account balance, trades and transactions from a chat with an agent
- You need historical bars, the order book or quotes for Finam instruments
- You want to place or cancel an order without switching to the trading terminal
Not a fit when
- You do not have a Finam API token and account ID
- You are not ready to give an agent access to placing exchange orders

You need Python 3.12, the uv package manager, and a FINAM_API_TOKEN plus FINAM_ACCOUNT_ID from your Finam account. The README points installation at the mdmeldon/finam-mcp repository sharing the same codebase; there is no separate PyPI release for this project. Interface stability is not guaranteed.
How to disable. Remove the finam block from your MCP client config and revoke the API token in your Finam account.

The Russian README gives two install paths: via MCP configuration with a uvx command, and running from source with uv sync. It lists all 18 tools in groups: account and portfolio, reference data, orders, market data. It shows tool call examples and explains that the token is only used to obtain a short-lived JWT.

Do I need a separate key for each tool?
No, the token and account ID are set once when configuring the MCP server and used across all 18 tools.
How long does the access token last?
The API token is exchanged for a JWT valid for about 15 minutes, refreshed automatically by the client.
