What it does
investor-agent is an MCP server of financial data for long-term investors. It has seven tools: `get_stock_info` with fundamentals, `historical_prices` with OHLCV, `get_options` by open interest, `market_movers`, `earnings_calendar` from NASDAQ, `fear_greed_index` and `technical_indicator` for SMA, EMA, RSI, MACD and Bollinger Bands. It runs as a remote MCP on Cloudflare Workers over Streamable HTTP, or locally over stdio from a built checkout. A plugin with an `investment-analysis` skill and the commands `analyze`, `compare`, `earnings` and `sentiment` is included.
Who it is for. Private investors and analysts who study stocks and options in an agent chat and want figures from a source rather than model memory.

Limitations
Read-only: the server creates no trades or orders. Financial data may be delayed, and the skill advises stating data freshness. The package is not published to npm, so `npx investor-agent` must not be run; the README requires building from the repository. The hosted instance is shared and unauthenticated, so requests pass through a third-party server. Answers are not investment advice. Some data comes from third-party sites, and the server does not verify its completeness.
How to disable. Remove the `investor-agent` entry from the client config or run `claude mcp remove investor-agent`. A local copy can simply be deleted.
FAQ
Is an API key needed?
No. The hosted instance answers over Streamable HTTP without auth, and the README lists no keys for local use either.
How do I install locally?
Run `git clone`, then `pnpm install` and `pnpm run build`, and point the client at `node` with the path to `dist/index.js`. There is no npm package.
Which indicators are available?
`technical_indicator` computes SMA, EMA, RSI, MACD and Bollinger Bands.
Can it buy shares?
No. All seven tools only read data and there are no trading functions.
What does the investment-analysis skill do?
It triggers on questions about stocks, earnings and valuation, and tells the agent to validate the ticker, state data freshness and show risks alongside opportunities.
