What it does
Claude Trading Skills is a set of 68 Agent Skills for the crypto and DeFi market, mostly on Solana. The skills connect Birdeye, DexScreener, CoinGecko, Helius and DeFiLlama data, token holder and wallet analysis, technical indicators, backtests with `vectorbt` and Backtrader, position and drawdown sizing, liquidity pool math and trade tax accounting. Each skill is a `SKILL.md` with a description and working code examples, and many bring a `references/` folder and Python scripts. The agent picks skills to match the request and chains them: it pulls quotes, computes indicators, runs a backtest and draws a chart. The `dex-execution` skill carries the work through to a token swap on Jupiter: it shows the quote, waits for confirmation and only then signs the transaction with the key from the `WALLET_PRIVATE_KEY` variable.
Who it is for. Traders and trading-bot authors on Solana who ask Claude Code or Codex to gather market data, test a strategy on history and size a position.
Good fit when
- A Solana token looks doubtful, and holder distribution, liquidity depth and slippage need an estimate before entry.
- An RSI strategy idea is tested on history: a backtest, equity curve, Sharpe and maximum drawdown.
- Pools on Raydium, Orca and Meteora are compared by net yield after impermanent loss.
- A year of trades is folded into cost basis accounting and the result is exported in a tax reporting format.
Not a fit when
- Stocks and futures are the target: the set is built around crypto and DeFi, and traditional markets get only options and bond pricing.
- A wallet key must not reach the agent: the swap skill signs transactions with a key from an environment variable.
- The set is expected to give investment advice: the author calls it an analysis and research toolkit.
Example request
Break down the holders of the token whose address is in the clipboard, estimate liquidity depth across pools and compute slippage for a 0.5 SOL entry.Limitations
The author states that skill output is not financial advice. Some skills need third-party API keys: Birdeye and Helius have a free tier, CoinGecko Pro is optional and DexScreener needs no authorization. Python 3.9 or newer and the `uv` package manager are required, and each skill lists its own dependencies in its `SKILL.md`. To test swaps, set up a separate wallet with a small balance: the execution skill signs the transaction with a private key from the environment. The set targets macOS, Linux and Windows with WSL2.
How to disable. Run `/plugin uninstall trading-skills@agiprolabs-claude-trading-skills`. For a manual install, delete the copied folders from `~/.claude/skills/` or `.claude/skills/` and remove the wallet key from the environment variables.
FAQ
How do I install the set in Claude Code?
Run `/plugin marketplace add agiprolabs/claude-trading-skills`, then `/plugin install trading-skills@agiprolabs-claude-trading-skills`. The skills get names like `/trading-skills:<name>`, and the agent finds them by the wording of a request.
Does the set work in Cursor and Codex?
Yes, the skills use the standard format. Copy the folders from `skills/` into `~/.cursor/skills/` or `~/.codex/skills/`, or into `.cursor/skills/` and `.codex/skills/` for one project.
Are API keys required?
For some skills, yes: Birdeye and Helius offer a free tier and CoinGecko Pro is optional. DexScreener answers without a key, which makes it a good place to start.
What must be installed before the first run?
Python 3.9 or newer and the `uv` package manager. The skills pull in the rest themselves, and each `SKILL.md` names the libraries it needs.
Does the swap skill spend money unprompted?
No, `dex-execution` follows seven steps and always shows the quote before asking for confirmation. The signature uses the key from `WALLET_PRIVATE_KEY`, so keep only a test amount on that wallet.

README in short
The repository accepts pull requests; the condition is a working `SKILL.md` in the Agent Skills format with tested guidance. Example requests include a token breakdown, an RSI strategy backtest, a pool yield comparison and a tax calculation over trades exported to the Koinly format.

--- name: risk-management description: Portfolio-level risk controls, drawdown management, exposure limits, and circuit breakers for crypto trading --- # Risk Management Portfolio-level risk controls for crypto and Solana trading. This skill provides frameworks for drawdown management, exposure limits, circuit breakers, and crypto-specific risk considerations. ## Risk Management Hierarchy Every decision must respect this priority order: 1. **Survival** — Never risk account ruin. No single trade, day, or week should threaten your ability to continue trading. 2. **Capital preservation** — Protect what you have. Losses compound geometrically; recovery requires outsized gains. 3. **Growth** — Only after survival and preservation are secured, pursue returns. Violating this hierarchy (chasing growth at the expense of survival) is the primary cause of account blowups. ## Portfolio-Level Controls ### 1. Maximum Drawdown Limits Halt trading when portfolio drawdown from equity peak reaches a threshold: | Account Type | Max Drawdown | Action | |---|---|---| | Conservative | -15% | Full stop, review all strategies | | Moderate | -20% | Full stop, reduce to minimum size on recovery | | Aggressive | -25% | Full stop, mandatory cooling period | Recovery math makes this critical: a -20% drawdown requires +25% to recover. A -50% drawdown requires +100%. See `references/drawdown_management.md` for the full recovery table. ### 2. Daily Loss Limits Stop opening new positions after daily P&L (realized + unrealized) hits: - **Conservative**: -3% of account - **Moderate**: -4% of account - **Aggressive**: -5% of account Reset at midnight UTC. Three consecutive days hitting the daily limit triggers a weekly halt. ### 3. Weekly Loss Limits
