What it does

The server sits on top of the official Dzengi REST adapter and gives an agent typed tools instead of an arbitrary HTTP proxy. Public market data reads without a key; signed account reads and any mutation need a key and secret. Trading tools (placing and cancelling orders) are disabled by default and turned on with separate environment flags, and live trading additionally needs an explicit flag plus an order notional limit. The server cannot withdraw, deposit or transfer funds and does not run a trading strategy. Secrets, signatures and auth headers never reach the logs, and response size is capped.

Who it is for. For traders who want to give an agent controlled access to their Dzengi account, and for developers who want a safe-by-default example of an MCP for a financial API.

Good fit when

  • You want an agent to read Dzengi quotes, instruments and account state
  • You want to test scenarios on the Dzengi demo adapter before going live
  • You need an MCP with explicit safety flags before letting an agent place orders

Not a fit when

  • You need withdrawals or transfers: the server does not do these
  • You do not have a separate restricted Dzengi API key bound to an IP
  • You want a ready trading strategy rather than access infrastructure

Limitations

You need a Dzengi account and a separate restricted API key bound to an IP with two-factor authentication. Trading and live mode are off by default and turned on with separate environment variables. The README is in English, and the package is at an early 0.1.0 version with no stable release.

How to disable. Remove the dzengi block from your MCP client config, or unset the DZENGI_API_KEY and DZENGI_API_SECRET variables.

FAQ

Can the agent withdraw money through this server?

No. The server does not implement withdrawals, deposits or transfers, even when the broker response contains such flags.

How do I enable real trading?

You need both DZENGI_ALLOW_TRADE and DZENGI_ALLOW_LIVE_TRADING flags, an order notional limit, and confirm true is still required on every mutation.
